i am in the midst of teaching logic in my class. we'll be using political speeches and editorials from recent news media to study basic principles of argument (definition, euphemism, logical fallacies, etc.). i'll start them off with a speech by our governator and a published rebuttal of it, and then i am having them bring in their own materials as gleaned from current media. in the end, they'll pick one of the articles they've brought in to write their own rebuttal of. [yes, i teach english and just ended a sentence with a preposition; we're not all grammarians!]

so smart folks, where should i send them? i don't keep up with current media as much as i should [spank!].

As of yet, in the lower ladder, thier is nothing malacious afoot. But I'm not well educated in the manner that corp.s get out-of-hand. What are some clues that usually lead to it?
I mean really where is the bottom on this soft news crap they keep getting into. Do they have to follow every fad and bullshit new thing there is, how long before we retro bowling and I have to hear how cool that is.

BTW isn't the point of Poker to Gamble?
and isn't gambling addictive and one of those shortcuts to riches, (if you win) that make laziness an okay trait? Not to mention the inherent alcohol and tobacco use that go along with the game.

Certainly I could NOT care if Ben beats Tobey at a high stakes game. Those guys don't have a clue what a buck is anymore. Yeah I can poker face somebody, oh and we're all actors at this table. Isn't there some paint drying on one of these channels?

Wow! This tribe is pretty quiet for Culture Jammers! What's up?

Is anyone here going to this?

Late breaking word is that Dennis Kucinich will speak at the MARCH 20th demonstration against the US war and occupation of Iraq in NYC on the first anniversary of the illegal US preemptive invasion of Iraq.

Over 150 Protests Planned, More Than 400 Organizational Endorsers.

Momentum is building for the Global Day of Action against War.

On that day people all around the globe will take to the streets to say YES to peace and NO to pre-emptive war and occupation. In communities large and small around the United States and across the globe, we will call for an end to the occupation of Iraq and Bush's militaristic foreign policies.
March 20 will be the first time the world's "other superpower" will take center stage since Feb. 15.

This is the same struggle you have been conducting in the elections. We need a large turn out!
